The EU-Chile Association Agreement, in force since 2003, has been modernized through the Advanced Framework Agreement (AFA) and the Interim Trade Agreement (ITA), signed on 13 December 2023. The ITA entered into force on 1 February 2025 and eliminates 99.9% of tariffs on EU exports to Chile, facilitates trade in services and improves access to critical raw materials such as lithium, copper and hydrogen.
